Immerse yourself in the beauty of the French Pyrenees, Barcelona and Girona, Spain, along with the principality of Andorra.
We begin in Spain, enjoying the fabulous city of Barcelona with all its history and culture. We then head to Girona, the home base for the Garmin – Slipstream Sports team and enjoy the same cycling routes the pros ride. We will be a part of the stage 6 start excitement in Girona – an experience that is like no other in sports.
We cycle into Andorra and enjoy the same climb as the racers, the very first mountain top finish of the 2009 Tour. This will be the first opportunity for the favorites to show whether they are for real. Will we see Lance, Contador, Leipheimer, Vande Velde, or others amongst the leaders after this stage?
Our trip continues to the indescribable Pyrenees of southern France. We’ll visit some of our favorite climbs and villages, riding on the routes of the Tour. We love this part of France with its amazing climbs and interesting culture which blends both Spanish and French influences.
Choose from trips lasting 8 or 10 days. Extended trips include riding the most historic climbs of the Pyrenees including the Tourmalet, Peyresourde, Luz Ardiden, and the Aubisque.
NOTE: arrive 6 July in Barcelona (leaving the US 5 July – or even 4 July?). Depart 13 July or extend trip departure of 15 July.
